Birthday Fun!

Yesterday we went to Savana’s birthday party where we helped her celebrate turning 4! Suong and Patrick went all out this year. Her birthday party included a bounce house, face painting, balloon animals and pony rides! Connor wasn’t afraid this time, he sat on a pony at another birthday party and didn’t seem to care too much for it. Not this time! He was loving it and even rode the pony with me holding him on. We had a lot of fun, Happy Birthday Savana!

Merry Christmas!

What a busy holiday, where should I start? Well, we kicked off Christmas this year at our house with Gram and Grandpa the Sunday before Christmas. Connor had lots of fun ripping the paper off his gifts! It was a beautiful day and we really enjoyed their visit. Next up was a trip to Cape Haze to visit with Grandma and Papa, along with Great Grandma and Grandpa, Aunt Nancy and Uncle Mark. Uncle Andrew was stuck working this year but he was very much in our thoughts. While we were there one of Grandma’s friends, H, stopped by to take pictures of the family. He took a lot of great shots, I’ve included a few of my favorites in the link below. Connor got lots of cute clothes and more toys than he will ever know what to do with. You should have seen our car on the drive back – talk about jammed pack! We almost had to leave the dogs….just kidding :o) Overall we had a wonderful first Christmas with Connor and now we’re looking forward to the New Year!

Tallahassee

This weekend Connor (finally) got to meet his great grandparents that live in Tallahassee! Yes, this trip was long overdue. It was a great surprise to Nancy and Jack as they did not know we were coming. We had a wonderful visit with them and then headed over to visit uncle Bill and aunt Jan, along with our cousins Mike and Nick. We didn't have the best of weather. It rained most of the day and got down to 44 while we were there. As we drove back home that night we watched our temperature gauge rise as we got closer to Orlando. By the time we got home is was 75 degrees - at 10 pm! I don't know about you all, but I'm ready for the cold weather to stick around for more than a couple of days.

Sunday we just bummed around and enjoyed being at the house for once. John put up Christmas lights outside and baby proofed the house. Connor worked on mastering the step in the living room and feeding himself Cheerios. Oh, he also learned to drink from a sippy cup!

9 Months Old!

I can hardly believe it, but our baby is already 9 months old. It's amazing how fast he is growing up and learning new things. Connor is now crawling, pulling up and cruising along furniture! I'm sure it won't be too much longer before we're chasing him around the house. I guess it's time to start baby proofing! :o) Yesterday Connor had his 9 month checkup and everything checked out good. He is right at the 50th percentile in all categories. He now weighs 20 lbs and is 27 3/4 inches long.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Connor had a great first Thanksgiving, we have so much to be thankful for this year! Not only have our lives been enriched by Connor but we are also surrounded by the most wonderful family and friends. Our long holiday weekend started off with lots of rain down in Cape Haze, FL, where we first visited with Grandmama and Papa, along with Aunt Nancy and Uncle Mark. Connor also got to see our friends Jeremy and Danielle again, who haven't seen the little guy since he was 7 weeks old! The rain brought us cold weather, which was a nice change especially for the holidays. Papa bought Connor his own highchair to use when he visits and especially so that he could sit at the table for his first Thanksgiving dinner. Connor got his first taste of mashed potatoes...turns out he finds them disgusting! After our turkey dinner settled we went out back for a few rounds of corn hole. Team John and Nancy dominated. Sorry Mark, I'm a little out of practice. Before we left on Friday we visited Grandmama at work. She had so much fun showing off her grandson!

Our next stop was Waldo to visit Grandma and Grandpa. Connor also got to see his uncle Chris, great Grandma and great uncles Steve and Dominique. Grandma and Grandpa babysat for us so that we could head to Gainesville on Saturday to tailgate for the FL/FSU game. We had a lot of fun...Go Gators!! Connor learned how to say "Uh Oh" when something falls to the ground. He's like a sponge, just taking it all in!

We spent Sunday morning browsing through the paper, particularly the advertisements in hopes of finding Christmas gift ideas. We would put the ones we were finished with into a pile. Well, Connor wanted to pick out what he wanted from Santa too! Check out this picture of Connor reading the advertisements - too cute!

We hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving, now it's time to get into Christmas mode!

Today was a big day for Connor...he crawled for the first time!! He's been scooting backwards for awhile now and rolling all over but today he finally moved forward. He is also saying ba ba ba and daycare told us they turned around to find Connor standing up in his crib! He's growing up so fast, please enjoy the video!

Beautiful Weather

Saturday we went to a birthday party where Connor got to ride a pony! Ok, so he didn't ride the pony but we took advantage of the photo opportunity! I don't think he cared for it too much, but he didn't cry or fuss so I can't say he hated it either. All weekend we had beautiful weather and we spent the majority of our time outside. Sunday we had brunch with friends and then headed downtown where we enjoyed food, wine and live music around Lake Eola. We're really enjoying the cooler weather and looking forward to the holidays - which will be here before you know it!

Trip to Gainesville

This weekend we headed up to Gainesville. Connor got to visit with many family members he doesn't get to see very often including his uncle Chris, great uncles Steve, Rick and Dominique, his great aunt Alison and both of his great grandmothers - Dedi and Charlotte! We stayed with Grandma and Grandpa Fisher who thoroughly enjoyed every minute with their grandson. We were in town for Kaleigh's 1st birthday party, my friend Jessica's baby. We had a great time seeing everyone, please enjoy a few pictures from our trip!

Fall Festivities

This weekend was full of fall festivities, starting with a visit to a pumpkin patch! We had a hard time getting Connor to look at the camera - there were too many other things grabbing his attention! Connor helped us pick out a huge pumpkin for Halloween. Saturday evening we went to Avalon Park’s Octoberfest with some friends. It was actually cool outside, so we had fun getting Connor all bundled up for the first time! Yesterday John put up a swing in the backyard - Connor loved it! Enjoy the pictures…

One Step Closer to Crawling!

Connor's version of crawling so far has been scooting himself backwards and moving around in circles. Well last night he started pushing up on his toes! He's getting much closer now! It looks to me like he's doing push-ups....too cute....enjoy the clip!

Gumula Beach Weekend

This past weekend the Gumula clan headed down to Jensen Beach, near Stuart, to visit with Connor's great grandparents. We had beautiful weather and a very fun and relaxing weekend at the beach. We normally try to sleep in on the weekends but Connor wanted to get up early on Saturday to watch the sunrise. Check out the link below to see pictures! We had a great time visiting with the family and look forward to doing it again soon!

7 Months Old!

Connor turned 7 months old last week! He seems to be reaching milestones rather quickly now. In the last few weeks he has mastered sitting unsupported, holding his own bottle and most recently getting his first tooth! He's working on crawling next. Right now he just scoots - mostly backwards! He is doing really well with solids. His favorites so far are carrots and sweet potatoes and surprisingly isn't too keen on fruits! He takes after his mommy and would rather have vegetables over fruit any day :) He makes us smile everyday and has the cutest little personality. He is growing up way too fast! Please enjoy these pictures taken over the past month - love to you all!
