Pool & Green Meadows Farm

Connor started his weekend off with a visit from his Aunt Nancy! It was just a short visit but he will see her again next weekend. We’re going to Cape Haze for the holiday weekend to visit with Grandma and Papa. They are fully prepared to spoil Connor, they warned us that they have already stocked up on poppers! :p

We spent Saturday with Erin at her community pool. It is super kid friendly with a large ‘beach’ area. Connor was able to get in and out of the water as he so desired. There is also a huge water fall at the deep end of the pool that he enjoyed.

Sunday we went to the Green Meadows Petting Farm where we helped Ava celebrate her 4th birthday. Barring the heat, we had a great time! They give us a hands-on tour where we learned all about various farm animals. We learned about pigs, cows, goats, sheep, chickens, turkeys, ducks, geese, donkeys, water buffalo and more! We got to go on a train and even a tractor-drawn hayride. Connor had fun chasing around the turkeys and we even got to milk a cow! Happy Birthday Ava!!

We also gave Connor his first haircut last night. We have trimmed over his ears before but last night we took a good inch off from all over his head! I didn’t think he had that much hair until we cut it all off :)

We took a ton of pictures, enjoy! http://share.shutterfly.com/action/welcome?sid=8EcOGzJm3cNwQ

Happy Father's Day!

I hope everyone had a good Father’s Day weekend! I don’t have much to write about (for once), we stayed home this weekend!! We had zero plans and it was a nice change of pace. Saturday we setup the kiddie pool in the back for Connor to play in. He enjoyed the pool but found more amusement with the hose! He died laughing every time Jackson tried to drink from it, it was hilarious! I included more pictures than necessary of this but I couldn’t pick and choose my favorites, I liked them all :) Sunday we went over to the Moncello’s and had fun kicking back and swimming in their pool. Connor has really warmed up to the water. We would love to have a pool at our next place. Which brings me to the next subject. John and I have decided we live in a money pit. Since we’ve put the house up for sale our hot tub quit working, the tile in the living room popped up and now….the A/C is broken! We returned from the Moncello’s yesterday to a HOT house. Perfect timing right, what better way to welcome the Summer season than to not have A/C? :( Get us out of this house!!!!

Donuts with Dad

Special post from John:

This morning Connor’s daycare had “Donuts with Dad” to help celebrate Father’s Day. I wasn't going to miss this because they were having donuts, I got to see a peek of what Connor’s day is like and again, they were having donuts. As soon as I got there Connor looked at me with a puzzled look from across the playground. He must have been thinking “you just dropped me off a few hours ago and Mommy usually picks me up at 5:30…why are you here?” But then he gave me a big smile and ran over. When Mrs. Fiona, the director, started bringing out the donut holes all of the kids kept playing except Connor, he followed 2 steps behind her and the box of donuts. It was pretty cute, the kids sat at little picnic tables and were given one donut hole at a time. Most kids had 1 or 2, Connor ate 6 of them and then cried when he didn’t get number 7. After his first one he wasn’t replenished quick enough so he reached over to the boy next to him, grabbed his donut hole and shoved it in his mouth. After breakfast we stayed outside on the playground for another 10 minutes and then headed inside to the classroom. Connor is without a doubt the most active kid in his class (which is good considering his eating habits). He cried a little when I said goodbye, but was fine as soon as Mrs. Gloria, his teacher, said it was circle time. I’m not quite sure what that means, but it must be fun because Connor stopped crying, walked over and sat down in the circle with the other kids. It looked like it was going to be a little puppet show and story time.

Friends

This past weekend was jam packed with friends! First we went to Kaden's birthday party at BounceU where we celebrated his 3rd birthday. Then we headed to Tampa for a Summer BBQ where Connor got to play with even more kids who are closer to his age. We think he has a little crush on Ava, Sara and Mikey's daughter. Connor was playing in their mini bounce house and could have cared less about the other girls in there and was just doing his own thing. As soon as he saw Ava he headed right for her! It was so cute, especially when Ava leaned in and kissed him on the cheek! We spent all day Sunday with Chris and Marti at their place. Scott and Jessica got home later with their girls, Chelsea and Kaylee. Jen and Jonathan came by to visit as well and Connor also got to play with their daughter Courtney. Nancy was awesome and babysat the doggies while we were there. Her and her friend Lindsay stopped by for awhile too. All and all a very fun weekend. It was so good to see all my friends in Tampa!!

Happy Birthday Taylor!

We took a trip up to Keystone Heights this weekend to help Taylor celebrate her 4th birthday! Taylor is the daughter of one of my closest friends, Jessica. We visited with Gram, Grandpa and uncle Steve on Saturday before the party. It rained on and off for the majority of the day but that didn't seem to bother Connor at all. He loved playing in the rain! By the time we got to the party the rain was done but it sure made for one hot, muggy day! The kids had fun playing outside though. Connor got to play in their sandbox and then cooled off in the kiddie pool with the girls! He is now trying to climb everything, which means he is getting into a lot more. I looked away for one minute and he was climbing into the pool with his clothes on! We had a really fun time and then stayed the night. Connor had a good time playing with Kaleigh who is just 4 months older. When it was time to leave they gave each other hugs - too cute!

We went to Gainesville on Sunday to visit with Grandma (Nana to Connor) and uncle Dominique, then with Dedi (my other grandmother). We're not sure when we're going to be able to make it up to Gainesville again so it meant a lot to us to get to see everyone even if it was a short visit. Next week we have another birthday party and then we're heading to Tampa for a summer BBQ with friends. After that we'll be laying low for awhile. Unfortunately, we have some major work to do on the house.

15 Months Old!

Connor’s 15 month checkup went very well! He is growing right on target and has hit all the necessary milestones for a baby his age, the doctor was pleased (as were we!). Surprisingly he is only in the 25th percentile for weight, weighing in at 22 lbs 10 oz. That’s only a few ounces more than he weighed at his 12 month visit! The doctor told us his weight gain will slow down tremendously and we can expect him to only gain 2 – 3 lbs per year now. He got taller which we were very excited to see. He is now 31 inches tall (50th percentile). I don't remember his head measurement but it was in the 50th percentile as well. Connor did NOT like the shots at all, poor thing had to get 4 of them! We don’t go back for another checkup until he is 18 months old.

Memorial Day Weekend

We all had a very fun-filled holiday weekend! Connor got to stay the night with Grandma and Papa in Cape Haze while we went to Lido Key. One of my best friends, Jessica, had a place for the weekend and invited us to join them for a night, sans kids! Connor had a ball with his grandparents. He got to go swimming, they watched boats go by in the bay, they took him to the mall for a play date, read books and played with his toys! Grandma and Papa were too busy playing to take pictures, but Carolyn's good friend H came by and snapped a few of him in action with his fancy camera. I've included a link to some of the other pictures he took.
Stay tuned for an update as we're taking Connor in tomorrow for his 15 month checkup. He is not going to be happy about getting his shots!
